Our advice
PBTA was involved in the design and execution process as acoustics and building physics consultant.
Responsible for the acoustical and building physics consulting work during the phases Preliminary Design, Final Design, Technical Design (specification phase), Realisation (construction execution), Completion and Aftercare.
Considerable attention was paid during design to the integration of acoustic features into the plan. These concern in particular: The acoustics of the various spaces, including classrooms, music studios as well as traffic and support spaces.
Special attention was paid to the acoustics of the auditorium as a space for theatrical and musical performances. Here the acoustic technology was used: CATT-Acoustic computer model for calculation of acoustic provision and prediction of the expected result. Not only in the form of numbers, but the calculated result was also made audible with speech and music so that the auditorium would sound even before it was built.
The user is very enthusiastic about the acoustics of the auditorium.
Consideration was also given to sound insulation between spaces in the building with particular attention to the high sound insulation requirements of the music studios.
Limitation of noise from the technical installations in the building and limitation of the noise emission of these installations to the homes in the area, in particular the heat pumps. Noise measurements have shown that the noise emission to the surrounding area remains well within the legal standards for this quiet residential area.
