CC Amstel – Amsterdam

Cultureel Clubhuis Amstel is a meeting place for theatre, music and culture.
CC Amstel was initially intended exclusively for the performing arts and provided space for a theatre (a so-called “black box”) a multifunctional hall, a studio and a foyer. During the design process, the library was added and the multifunctional hall changed function. The library is run by the OBA (Amsterdam Public Library) while the theatre function is run by an independent institution.

The theatrical engineering plots recommended consisted mainly of theatrical lighting, theatrical sound and
electroacoustic installations, projection facilities, theatrical seating and telescopic stands, theatrical mechanical installations and theatrical upholstery.

Result
The quality of the theatre (“black box”) deserves an extra mention; the sightlines, acoustics and theatre technology are of a high level and testify to good cooperation between the architect and various advisors.
Amsterdam has gained a beautiful theatre accommodation!
