Project Description

The design of the theatre focuses on the placement and orientation of the building in the urban environment while providing architectural solutions to needs in programming and public accessibility. The placement of programs within the building requires efficient routing through the theatre, coupled with a logical relationship with the surroundings, while the design and placement of various volumes take advantage of the natural variations in the height of the site. The two theatre halls are positioned to welcome the visitor in a wave motion through the foyer and the Theatre Square.
From the foyer, the stairs to the second floor form a unifying element in the access to the halls. The Theatre Café is positioned overlooking the water and is designed as a third theatre hall, in the form of an amphitheatre.

The theatre is a transparent building with lots of windows and light.

The building was designed entirely in BIM.
