Project Description

The Zuiderstrandtheater served as a temporary replacement for the Dr. Anton Philipszaal (large concert hall) and the Lucent Danstheater during the construction of the Education and Culture Cluster (completion 2021) (present Amare) . This new building includes a full theatre/concert hall with 1,001 seats, a fully equipped stage house with hoisting and lifting facilities, audience and artist spaces, technical rooms, etc.

Our advice

PBTA advised on the complete installation package of theatre technology; theatrical fly system (hoisting system), theatre lighting systems, theatre curtains and fabrics, electro-acoustic systems, electrical theatre facilities, theatre seats (total investment amount 1.3 million). For this, PBTA carried out the total consultancy from Program of Requirements to final delivery and aftercare. The assignment consisted mainly of the following components:

  • preparation of Program of Requirements
  • preparing and supervising Preliminary design
  • preparing and supervising Definitive Design
  • Prepare and supervise Technical Design
  • preparation of tender guidelines including award criteria and addendum to general conditions
  • supervising procurement and award (Notice of Information, evaluation, Price and Contract Formation)
  • Supervise Implementation Phase/Directive Management
  • supervise commissioning (inspection)
  • supervising (preliminary and final) completion and aftercare
