Project Description
Building complex housing various cultural facilities, including a theatre with two halls, a cinema with five halls and a public library. The main hall is a theatre/concert hall for theatre and musical theatre performances as well as symphonic concerts. This makes it a regular performance venue for het Noord Nederlands Orkest.
The small hall is a multifunctional flat floor stage theatre, which can take approximately 230 seats on a
telescopic grandstand and is also suitable for chamber music and with retracted stands offers multifunctional possibilities for, among other things, standing concert shows.

Our advice
– Drawing up the Program of Requirements for the theatre technology and acoustics
– Design and realisation of the complete theatre and cinema technical installations, including the
concert hall set-up, theatre curtains and audience seating
– Consultation with the user on the building design and the theatre technical installations, furnishings and other
facilities
– Answering questions and providing directional advice to the designing and executing parties (Design & Build party: BAM)
– Reviewing the architectural and installation design (BAM), for the benefit of the theatre and the
cinema.

Building of the Year 2013 Region North/East. “A spatial feast. This adventurous labyrinth demands to be discovered. A cultural heart to be proud of,” according to the jury.
