Chassé Theater – Breda

This building contains 3 theatre or concert halls and 2 movie theatres (capacity respectively: 1430, 728, 298, 117, 82 spectators).
The design is by Prof. H. Hertzberger. The middle hall (728 seats) was designed in particular as a large flat-floor theater hall and also as a concert hall for symphonic music and as such has acquired a particularly good acoustic reputation. By means of movable curtains and wall and ceiling sections, this hall is also suitable as a theater and music theater hall.

In 2004 the seating capacity of the Large Hall was expanded from 1285 to 1430 seats through modifications to the balconies. PBTA advised on the sightlines.

The theatrical engineering lots recommended consist mainly of theatrical mechanical systems (lifting and hoisting systems), theatrical lighting, theatrical sound and electroacoustic systems, projection facilities, theatrical seats and telescopic stands (Middle Hall and Small Hall), public address systems, variable acoustics (in particular, the retractable orchestra room and retractable acoustic curtains that transform the Middle Hall into a fully-fledged symphonic concert hall), theatrical curtains and fabrics and electrical facilities for theatrical engineering.
