Project Description

Municipality of Bladel selected a team of Group A Architects to create an integral design for the “conversion of the former Rabobank in Bladel, into community accommodation MFA Den Herd for Bladel” in 2020. The building will house a theatre, library, dance halls, classrooms and rehearsal rooms, among other things.
Group A not only made the architectural design, but is also responsible for the installation concept, building physics, acoustics, etc. In addition, Group A is responsible for all other matters that must be arranged to make the (re)construction possible.

The existing Cultural Centre Den Herd in Bladel has a serious theatre hall and the program of requirements for the new location calls for a mature replacement of the theatre hall. The municipality of Bladel invited PBTA to commission the supervision of the design and realisation of the stage/theatre function. Our role was to be an independent and objective advisor to the Municipality of Bladel, a task that consisted of identifying, reporting, answering questions and providing directional advice. PBTA performed the following work:

– Test of room acoustic principles, including report
– Test of draft version PoR and sketch design, including report
– Test of final PoR and sketch design, including report
– Test of budget for theatrical technical equipment and acoustic facilities PoR/sketch design phase
– Test of draft version preliminary design including report
– Final preliminary design test, including report
– Technical theatre equipment and acoustics budget test for preliminary design phase
– Answering questions and providing directional advice
– Acoustic zero measurements of existing Den Herd auditorium and former Rabobank auditorium, including report

The building with the new name: BRUIS opened May 2025.
