Theater curtains, equipment, sets and props are suspended from rail profiles and round-tube sections or trusses, whether or not in the form of a ‘grid’. A tension grid is a walkable mesh floor – somewhat similar to a roller loft through which hoisting movements with chain hoists or point pulls are possible – high above the playing surface and the auditorium floor, with the light beams from the spotlights suspended above it directed through the mesh onto the playing surface.
